For normies it is. This is proven by the need for loan forgiveness. It used to be that college degrees paid themselves back easily. That isn't the case because they aren't good deals for most. Your high school guidance counselor makes a shitty financial planner.

The biggest problem with statistics is even most people who can do the math don't understand the intuitions around applying the math. Most intro classes try their best to hammer in what logical inferences you can make with statistics, but even most profs fuck it up half the time. It is why the social sciences are such a joke.
