Is it possible to do a theoretical physics phd with anything other than a mathematics degree?

I've been looking over my favourite lecturers, every single one is a mathematics undergraduate, most of them from Cambridge. Like seriously should I just give up now? My degree is horribly restrictive and doesn't let me take maths classes and forces me to sit core physics classes that are basically taught like they're for future experimentalists and engineers. I had to beat them into submission just to take 1 mathematics class this year on Relativity, since physics don't even provide the option until year 4 and even then its not exactly mathematical well developed.

Susskind is the only person I can think of that even comes close. Exception that proves the rule?
