i feel for you OP

i didn't get a degree in engineering but i also got fucked upon graduating. my advice is to lower your standards and just take any fucking job you can. you don't want to end up with a long period of no school & no job on your resume. it might look weird to graduate with an engineering degree and then go work an entry level job at an insurance company but its better than graduating with an engineering degree and then being unemployed for a year.

ignore the children on this forum. the world doesn't work the way it does in tv and movies. its a new world out there. the economy isn't growing, old people don't retire, businesses outsource everything that fresh college grads used to do & the uncertain economic outlook makes businesses really anal about hiring. on top of that school is three times as expensive (after adjusting for inflation) and 10 times less impressive than it used to be. thank the babby boomers.

we have anti intellectual anti politics culture

we're headed for a christian fundamentalist government. end game being 99% of the population works for huge corporations making just enough money to get by on 40+ hours of work a week. the really smartfags and doctorfags will make enough to take a trip to the bahamas once a year and live in a slightly larger house far away from black people. the top 1% will sail around the world on yachts making money by investing money they inherited.

you're referring to the port security act or whatever it was called. they were passing a bill to help keep out DEM EVIL TERRORISMISTS and some closeted gay faggot republican snuck in his anti gambling bullshit to appeal to his christian retard base.

it made it hard to deposit for a few months but then they got it sorted out. i believe the law was that US banks couldn't deal directly with gambling companies. so the poker companies just used a middle man. it seemed like a legit loophole but everyone knew that they were operating in a legal grey area. but for fucks sake we had full tilt poker and poker stars advertising on day time TV and sponsoring the WORLD SERIES OF POKER for years. lol the whole thing is just so bizarre.

meanwhile billionaire hedgefund managers gambled with american's 401k and pension money, lost, and then were bailed out by the US gov. not a single person even got demoted.
