If you had to write 4000 words from any math topic, what would it be and why ?

I love maths, but I don't want to be a high school maths teacher. Then I concider computer science and electrical engineering, but I'm affraid it'll be too basic / easy.

What do ?

I need your help /sci/,

I think I just failed my LinAlg1 exam and am gonna drop the year/term. Worst of all is, I am actually not a slacker. I am a CS grad, and started studying maths this year.

I totally love maths. I had an easy time with both Analysis and LinAlg, and because of stuff I had to do for my CS major, I decided to skip most of the LinAlg lectures for the last 2 weeks or so. We have a good coursebook, so this shouldn't have been a problem. I've also always had an easy time with the homework.

I knew I was missing out on some things when skipping the lecture though, but I was willing to give up on a good mark in favor of finishing all my stuff in time for both majors. I had prepared for the exam and learned from the coursebook.

You need to have an average of at least 65% on both exams to pass the term. I had 80% on the first (due to some silly mistake, could have had 100%), so I needed at least 50% on this now. However, half of the points consisted of some huge problem that I didn't even understand. I only did the other half of the exam, I checked and double-checked, but if I made a single mistake there, I'm below 65% and it's over.

I don't know what to do /sci/. If I fail LinAlg1 this term, this will offset my entire study goal. Worst of all, I would have to do all the homework exercises again, all the stuff I already know and which is boring to me, and this would totally frustrate me. I am schocked this actually happened to me, is there something I can do to still pass the term if I have below 50% on the test? Talk to the prof? Ask to take the test again?

Any advice is appreciated, I won't be able to sleep until I get this off my mind. I just want to learn maths so badly.

What's the closest thing we have to a panacea?

Is it regular exercise combined with a balanced diet? What I'm looking for is the greatest thing in terms of preventive medicine.
