>"The Speed of Light"

Today I learned Light doesn't have an absolute speed and changes depending on your reference frame.

So Light can be emitted from a star that's traveling at 1 million mph and then Light's speed is C + 1 million mph.

Why did Science lie to me?

Imagine two cars parallel to one another, one is accelerating in the direction of motion and one is moving at the speed of light with no acceleration. On an infinite time interval, the speed of the accelerating vehicle will be infinity as the speed diverges. Therefore, any object with a non-zero acceleration will be moving faster than the speed of light eventually.

Hey /sci/ I'm writing a science fiction story and I want to ask you guys something. Other than placing something physical in a light's way, and gravity bending space time, is there a way, theoretical or otherwise to change the "direction" a beam of light is heading?
