Hey /sci/. Do you think we're close to petering out as a species? I don't mean idiocracy bullshit, I mean, reaching the limit of the capacity of the human mind. It takes so long for people to study to become cutting-edge scientists, I have to wonder:

Are we near the limits of our brains?

Do you think we'll have invented something good enough to either augment us or take over in time? Singularity bullshit aside I usually picture us right on the edge of some crazy fucking breakthrough. But Leibniz & Co. thought that shit in the 1700s.

Might we never quite be smart enough to make it without evolution making us better, first, a loooong time from now?

/sci/, if cultures act as selective pressures on personality types, what sort of personality type is america selecting for?

inb4 memes aren't science, biology isn't a science, personality isn't heritable, blah blah blah

I take your silence to mean you're fresh out of ideas?
