I made a thread about it but i will ask it here too.

If perpetual motion is impossible, why do the electrons of an atom seem to be perpetually moving?

Another question: If energy always tends to spread out, degrading the energy source, how come forces inside the atom seem to perfectly preserve themselves? the weak and strong forces never seem to be degrading... same thing with gravity

Do republicans legitimately believe their politicians studied climatology, and know climate science better than actual climate scientists?

Mathematically speaking, how long will it take for humanity to face a major disaster due to overpopulation?

What will be the future demographics of earth?

Will atheists finally become the majority some day?

youngishfag here

is it possible to literally not be able to understand certain topics in mathematics? i'm reading through my notes on group theory and it's just a wall of text i can hardly make sense of and i can't retain any of the definitions so i keep having to re-read everything. the same is true for most algebra, but particularly the more abstract topics

am i just not intelligent enough for this? i used to enjoy mathematics because it was easy and intuitive but now neither of those things are true and i'm not really sure what to do. obviously i could be putting in more effort than i am to understand some of this stuff but it literally takes me hours to complete a handful of problems and i have the attention span of a goldfish

are/were any of you in a similar position? are there certain textbooks i should be seeking out? please help
