Question for the mathbros

I have two sets of numbers:
{8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13}
{6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11}

One number is randomly selected from each set.
On average, what is the highest number of the two selected?

Does the Higgs field have a gauge particle? Or is it just a spooky action?

Apparently it's not the Higgs boson, so what is it? Can we make one in an accelerator?

Depleted uranium is widely available as a feedstock. Stockpiles in the United States currently contain approximately 700,000 metric tons of depleted uranium, which is produced as a waste byproduct of the enrichment process.[12] TerraPower has estimated that the stockpiles present at just the Paducah enrichment facility represents an energy resource equivalent to $100 trillion worth of electricity.[11] Company scientists have also estimated that wide deployment of TWRs could enable projected global stockpiles of depleted uranium to sustain 80% of the world’s population at U.S. per capita energy usages for over a millennium.[13]

Can any psychologist or anyone who has knowledge of this field confirm if there was ever a ban in the US for treating patients who said they've been involved in satanism.

I think some people take science a little too seriously, and put a little too much faith in it. It's something to pursue but it's never going to really make people happy. It should never be prioritized over people. I've just met a lot of people dogmatic about science, and they seem to value it more highly then they value people. What's up with that?

Is it safe to assume that things humans have developed on Earth....like lorries on the carriageway, propellers to determine spatial orientation of ships at sea...all have analogs in nature?

Lorries on a carriage way are akin to myosin transport in a cell.

Propellers on a ship are akin to asymmetric expression of left-right genes due to nodal flow in an organism, essentially why we have a dorsal and ventral side of ourselves.

Ok /sci/, stretch your minds. I'm going to ask you some questions that are kind of vague, but go with it. Try and move past the obvious and think of things that are novel and interesting.

Consider a network with some number of nodes, connected in some fashion. How can this network change over time? For instance, it could divide into two networks. You can add in other networks if you want.

I have an interesting question for you.

What is symbolic of pleasure? Something instantly recognizable, not related to a single aspect of pleasure, and clever. Dig deep.

Hey /r9k/- I mean /sci/, kindly list the probability of the following events occurring some time in the future as:

-Definite
-Likely
-Not sure
-Unlikely
-Impossible

1-Interstellar travel
2-Time travel
3-Biological immortality
4-Transhumanism
5-Artificial Intelligence
6-First contact
7-Terraforming
8-World peace
9-Human extinction (in the near future)
10-Getting laid

PS I'm copying this thread here to compare /sci/'s vision of the future with a very "optimistic" group of people.
