Hey /sci/,
I am going to tell you some thoughts of mine and then ask what you think about them.

It is based on the theory/fact that a person does not have a free will because the brain is just biochemical reaction. Therefore our every thought and decision is just a product of earlier influences.
Now lets say that a person just received this information about himself. He is aware of not having a free will.
One extreme would be accepting it. The persons gets demotivated and does not feel like it does not make much sense care about his decions.
The other extreme would be (and that is why I am interested in other opinions) not accepting the absence of the free will. Said person would make exactly those decision he would make if he had a free will, even though he doesnt. But how does that matter if your illusion of free will becomes truth for yourself.

In short: believing that you have a free will makes you make the decisions you would make if you had a free will. And it appears true to yourself.

What you think of this ?
