Why not? Many top athletes are vegans. Lewis Hamilton, Serena Williams, Nick Diaz, Hector Bellerin, etc. The gist is that you have to take supplements, but ALL athletes take supplements, whether they eat meat or not. A lot of vegan food like almond milk and tofu come pre-fortified with Vitamin D and B12 because they know their target demographics.

If you're talking about convenience then I agree with you. It is a pain in the ass to be full vegan. Cake contains eggs. Guinness contain fish. But it is not necessary to be pure radical extremist vegan, just eat whole plant based food, eat supplements and in special occasions eat whatever.
