If we irradiate chimpanzee embryos we could cause mutations that could be transferred to human embryos for controlled evolution. This could provide adaptations for survival in space or on other planets.

If we develop microscopic machines that attach themselves to neurons we can have a direct-to-brain computer interface. The machines could read when the neurons fire and also activate the neurons and prevent the neurons from firing by absorbing the electric current. This way many things would become possible: connecting human brains to the internet, creating a superbrain out of the entire network of connected human brains (like the Borg collective from Star Trek), recording experiences, virtual reality, mind control (by manipulating the brain in a certain way)... etc. It would also be possible to treat mental illnesses with these machines.

Let's talk about preparing for nuclear war. We need to build underground fallout shelters. We should bring thousands or millions of seeds underground to repopulate the Earth with plants, as all life on the surface could be destroyed. We need to bring bees underground to pollenate the plants. We should also bring plenty of food and water, hazmat suits, deployable shelters in which to grow food-producing plants aboveground safe from nuclear fallout. It would also be nice to have missiles that could intercept any kind of nuclear missile, even the ones that travel several times the speed of sound.

Nuclear war seems to be inevitable; all it takes is one crazy politician, and both Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin have threatened nuclear attack, not to mention Trump's strike on Iran. The survival of humanity depends on it.
