i kind of know what shared memory is and the jist of parallel vs. serial computing, but what is it actually?

and why is it useful for monte carlo models?

What do I do to get my teachers to give me better grades? Specifically in mathematics and physics.
I've gotten B-A in ALL papers and tests since summer, yet I got only C's on my quarterly grades (What they overall think we should be given as a grade for august-december)?
They give both grades for written niveau and oral participation.

TL;DR: Got A-B on all tests/papers since summer, got C in quarterly exams. What do?
