I'm sort of interested, but I'd rather not spend the 10$ on it.

The idea that most of science, math, language, etc. could be completely redesigned if we ever had a few centuries to burn.

How do I understand the concept of objects that have always existed?
How do things exist without a beginning?
Isn't existence dependent on its creation?


I know when talking about things like pre-big, you have to assume theres always been stuff before stuff existed, but I'm having a hard time being able to imagine an infinity timeline for somethings existence. (like the plane our universe exists on, ect)

My dad has just about the same understanding as me of science, but he does have a few weird beliefs
For example, he thinks acupuncture is legitimate medicine

My mother, perfectly reasonable woman, doesn't understand too much of science, but generally accepts whatever science says, since it's shown itself to work.

But the dude she's living with currently, holy hell what a retard.
This is a man who thinks
1. Evolution is a conspiracy (mind you he's not a IDtard, he just thinks evolution is a conspiracy)
2. The Holocaust never happened, and if it did, good.
3. Climatic change is a goddamn lie
4. The scientific method is making something up, then assuming it's true until someone else proves it wrong.
5. Faith healing and other types of healing-by-touch is completely legit
I wish I was making this up
