Most of us seem very fixated on the idea of our minds being transferred and stored in some form of computer mainframe so that we may "live" forever. Of course problems instantly arise from this, ones that come to the fore-front of my attention are the cost of such a procedure, in what form/body my mind would be contained and the view others will have of me for deciding to live as such. The two... preferable options I see are my mind being stored in a manner that I am essentially "one" with the internet, capable of going and viewing anything I want, and conversing with others who have done the same entirely digitally. My most preferred option however would be to have my mind placed in an android, completely human looking down to breath, warmth and feelings, so I would essentially still feel human. (I'd take the form of an immortal 19 year old girl for sure(essentially like a Chobit but I digress)). This way I could live a normal life, have relationships... for a while... maybe... so long as I have a working vagina.... ermm, back on track, and still be perceived as a normal person by anyone who didn't know I was a machine. i could live forever, do what I like and have an eternity to learn. I'd like the ability to eat as well, not just visually, ie: food goes in, food comes out, but for it to be able to power my entire system (like the human body does) so that I don't need to plug myself in for 8 hours at a time.

Hey Sci, considering how when Babies are born they have very little knowledge or abilities, with only a few reflex reaction but the ability to see, hear and feel, and to connect these senses to other senses, ie, the sound of a Mother and food, as well as the ability to link the senses to feelings, bad for pain, good for warmth.

If I were to create a computer or machine, probably humanoid, and give it the same abilities, no other programming, (it would have gigasmic amount of memory) would it be able to learn and grow intellectually like that child one day will? Also, is it plausible that it would develop emotions and effectively, with the correct upbringing become a "person".

TL:DR

I want a Chobit
