the seed cable design is probably the only one that will work

you start with a single "seed" cable, extremely thin, made of (magic material), and launch a 22,000 mile long spool of the stuff up to your counterweight satellite or space station.

the counterweight hooks the seed cable to a winch and just lowers it down to the surface at a manageable speed (a couple feet per second). a few days later, a helicopter can fish the dangling end of the cable, and bring it over to the anchor point. hook everything up and you have the start of your space elevator.

from that point you can either launch additional seed cables (putting ten or twenty of them in a row to make a load bearing space ribbon) or have a robot from the anchor point carry the second length of ribbon up the cable to the counterweight (the first robot would have to be very small, a few pounds at most).

the idea is to build the entire thing in successive stages

movement requires energy, absolute zero means no energy meaning no movement

the old testament is a bunch of sand niggers trying to rationalize some events they could not. i personally believe those events were indeed divine, but probably not as flamboyant as the stories describe.

the new testament is basically a slightly more practical version of buddha trying to get everyone to stop killing and hating eachother, with a few miracles and morality tales thrown in.

it was never meant to be taken literally.

this is why catholicism >>>>>>>>>>> protestantism of any form

how effective are adult stem cells as opposed to embryonic?
the research seemed to suggest that embryonic stem cells are extremely unstable, and very difficult to control

>The Sun, cosmic rays, volcanoes, and "natural cycles" have been ruled out as cause of recent global warming,

i'd love to read the sources of that.
the cosmic ray seeding hypothesis is actually gaining some ground due to the recent spike in storm intensity/precipitation over the last year, coinciding almost directly with the sun's extremely weak magnetic field (almost no sun spots for several years straight)

the fact you're throwing out all those alternative theories with a single bullet point makes me heavily question the validity of the rest of your claims.

wait, i thought the whole point was that they were destroying quibit states at one point and observing their pairs change state at another faster than light should allow?

or is the actual exciting part not that it was FTL, but that this could be a way to replace lossy radio based communication or inter-system communication?

don't lump sea dragon in with orion. orion has essentially no value due to the stupid concept of atmospheric detonations and the hueg g forces it'll undergo. not to mention the amount of engineering needed to get it working right.

Sea dragon is basically a large saturn V, and the launch platform won't require much thought, just use a nuclear aircraft carrier for the electrolysis and the command center. done.

i'd love to hop into a debugger and learn the ropes
but not right now.
due to the databases used in this assignment being wonky as fuck for the past few days, i've only been able to start coding it this afternoon, and i simply do not have time to do a thorough debugging (it's due in an hour and 27 minutes, and honestly? i'm not sure its complex enough to warrant a full blown packet sniffer)
