WHAT IS THE POINT OF 5 FUCKING ROCKETS TO CHOOSE FROM WHEN THERE IS NOTHING TO LAUNCH!?

At this point we need companies making shit to loft into orbit with these big new heavy rockets
>space stations
>telescopes
>spacecraft to assemble in orbit
>satellite tugs/refuelers/maintenance
>space debris collectors
>0g manufacturing facilities
>lunar stations/bases/rovers/landers

For fucks sake we're gonna run into a problem where we have a fleet of rockets but nothing to launch on them, especially now that Bigelow looks to be ded, and inflatable space habs were looking really promising and like a good use of those rockets and their large fairings

Bigelow holds so much promise, so much hype, can they actually pull it off? Inflatables seriously seem so much better and roomier and faster to set up a full working station for than each module being purpose built and sent up in pieces

Hell you can potentially launch 2 modules at once maybe

Imagine launching 2 inflatables nto space, inflating and docking them and having suddenly half the total pressurized volume of the ISS in 2 measly inflatables

godamn, expendables really could change things for the better, do away with the limits of cans and take space stations into a new and better direction, its crazy how its just one company exploring them right now, and even that was thanks to NASA's initial exploration that was defunded, fuck.

What does length of setup time matter to a station intended to be permanently in orbit? It would be setup and inflated before any crew arrives

I don't think NASA should be set on inflatables but the Lunar Gateway affords a really nice opportunity for Bigelow to test their larger inflatable habitat and maybe even have that become a permanent addition to the station like BEAM is, only permanent livable now too

Bigelow has potential, but it would be foolish to rely on inflatables solely at the outset I think.

>ramshackle tin cans in space orbit.

Why is everyone ignoring the inflatable meme?

Bigelow infaltable modules in space and on lunar/mars surface have me excited.

The idea of more space than in the entire ISS for less cost/weight and difficulty setting up is so incredible, I hope they hurry the fuck up with their designs, and that the modules prove rigid enough and safe enough against the outside environment.

Here's hoping BEAM is a success.
