>"Guys, the brain uses quantum effects for consciousness!"
>"But the brain is at room temperature and a solution, how can quantum effects be present long enough to impart any change to otherwise largely deterministic molecular dynamics?"
>"Err, there's this little section of the microtubules where quantum effects MAY prevail for longer than a trillionth of a second!"

All of these questions are more are answered with SCIENCE in the Whole Brain Emulation Roadmap, written by a PhD in computational neuroscience.

Also, ATLUM, the only microtome+microscope with enough resolution to extract a connectome out of brain slices was invented by a transhumanist. Yay!

Cue link to the TED talk video that explains beauty from a darwinian perspective and says we enjoy things that are done right. Like music done right.

Video very much related.

No, I know computers don't work the same way as brains. If I want an AI, I would want something that works like a brain, but I wouldn't use a computer. Guess what I'd use?

>>2654033

You're telling me that the structure can't be represented, emulated? Run in a simulation? Or replicated in a real-life, nanomechanical implementation of the brain?

This is just like the God of the gaps argument, but for consciousness, holy shit.

Hey sci/ what you think of this guys?

He has crazy theories like QM is incomplete and needs to be modified. So QM will look more like CM in the future. Also, he thinks imaginary numbers will play a big part in this.

Plus he has crazy theories like consciousness is QM based. That computers will never be like humans because they are Turing complete and the mind is based on QM that is random and can go beyound incompleteness to see the platonic world.

That being said, closed-loop life-support is not within the realm of imagination any more, and Earthships have been used all over the world, made out of different materials, and they are SO AWESOME.

Do-it-yourself transhumanism, however, might be just a bit of a situation.
