if the blocks were made offsite then were lifted up the they used a mixture of these. it would have been interesting to see how they would have made these machines. my guess is a tall lever that is very long on one end and short on the other like a reverse trebuchet, ropes and maybe some pulleys. they must have dismantled those tools if they no longer exist today
