When singularity happens and self replicating robots and AI does our work, humans will spend their life in VR all the time. In such scenario there's no need for hierarchies because there's not really a common endgoal for humanity that requires cooperation, or even a society, since AI does all the work.

Basically when your life is solved you don't need cooperation. In the animal world animals cooperate and make hierarchies because they have a common goal (survival), but if you're immortal and you're godlike in your VR or whatever, there's no need for a society
