OP here. If I join I'd like to join through my Unit's ROTC program so I can be an officer and actually hopefully do cool tech shit. I'm mainly asking in those terms.

hey /sci/, going into Electrical Engineering in a few months. I've been looking into joining the us air force as an officer after graduating with my degree, but I've been looking around band it seems they don't do much actual engineering, or research and development. would going into the USAF help my career at all or just make me compete against fresh undergrads four years late?
