How can you believe all degree n polynomials have n roots in the complex plane? It's just a theory (a gauss)

hey /sci/

i need to show that every prime greater than 5 divides some repunit (integer made of all 1's ex. 1111111).

so far i have that all repunits can be expressed as (10^n -1)/9, so if the prime divides it, it divides (10^n -1). from this 10^n = 1(modp)
i think i need to use fermat's little theorem but i'm not sure how to apply it here.

Gauss and his work like his 2 equations that are now 2 out of 4 Maxwell's equations are extraordinarily beautiful.
His work is mostly mathematical but he is still in my opinion one of the greatest physicists.
