Realistically speaking all space civilizations will be mechanical. All will be machines.

Lets see
Humans
>Need special snowflake environments that are nearly impossible to replicate anywhere outside of earth

Robots:
>Do not !
>Simply strap some redundant computer on that thing, add some power pack (nuclear) and give some shielding.

Tell me who landed first on mars ? Robots or Humans ? I rest my case, many robots and no humans.

Why not? Humans are overgrown monkeys with limited intellect and stunted evolutionarily progress. Simultaneously, they can be clever and highly destructive. The infinitely higher and perfectly rational cybernetic intelligence that will someday dominate this planet will likely view them as pest animals to be eliminated.
