You are a Scientist at my Science Foundation. You are studying a niche topic with no known applications. Suddenly a bureaucrat appears and starts demanding to know what you are doing and how what you are doing will help make weapons more lethal/help a billionaire make more money. She is a middle aged diversity hire, in a management role, with a bad attitude. She hates feeling inadequate and is now in a building where she will consistently be the least intelligent, least capable person in any room of the building. If you give her a technical description of what you are doing, she will accuse you of being condescending and too technical. If you give her a simple English description of what you are doing, she will accuse you of talking down to her. You are in a trap.

Then I appear.
>Good Morning Mrs. Gordon, I am Dr. Eli Selig, the Director of the Science Foundation. I am here to give you the grand tour of the Science Foundation.

Then I point at you.

>This is Dr. Anonymaid, she is using artificially intelligent robots to do physics simulations to see if robots and artificial intelligence can increase our understanding of how physics works.

Then she stops paying attention to you and pays attention to me, because I am an authority figure and I used three "I heckin' love science!" buzzwords in rapid succession.

We leave your lab and wander the Science Foundation. I spend the next four hours telling her a long story which is only tangentially related to anything happening in the Science Foundation, occasionally punctuated by pointing at a random lab and using more buzzwords.

At the end of the tour, she is too tired to bother scientists more. She wants to go home and drink box wine and watch Netflix. I walk her to the exit.

Material is written and I am just making it pretty now. The template is called Kaobook. I don't remember where I got it from. I was looking for templates with big margins so my book can get margin maids.

I have never tried to use LaTeX without a template. I am just going to fix the rest of the document and hope somebody tells me while I typeset other things. If that doesn't happen I will play with it a little more when I run out of other work. If I can't fix it, I will just post it as-is because it doesn't harm the quality of the writing or the appearance of the maids, just makes the first section of every chapter look silly.
