If I'm a loser and a failure, should I take solace in the idea that another version of me in another universe is living a much better life?

How likely is the multiverses theory?

>The universe didn't begin with the big bang
the universe has always existed
>The big bang is just the origin of the observable universe's current form.
>There are and infinite number of "universes" (speherical islands of mass) in an infinite cosmic backdrop.

Is there actually any evidence to support a multiverse? I've always regarded it as fiction or at least requiring as much faith to believe in as you would with a god.

This was until i heard Prof. Lawrence Krauss bring it up multiple times during his debates.

If there is evidence, which multiverse does it support? eg. Infinite universes, branching parallel universes etc.

There's an infinite multiverse. Fine Tuning makes that pretty much the only reasonable explanation for our laws of physics.

Infinite multiverse allows humans to exist even if there are lots of filters.

There is other intelligent life out there (because of infinity) but it's too far away (many universes between us) and transportation between universes is not possible (there'd be infinite visitors all the time).

Yeah, I can't prove this, but I don't see it playing out any other way. Enjoy being alone in our universe for the rest of your days.

Using the multiverse theory, could there be a universe where multiverses don't exist? If not, then are multiverses finite?

I believe there's a multiverse, just not in our universe. It just keeps zooming out like those russian dolls that gets smaller and smaller but the other way around.

Here's a question though, if we live in an infinite multiverse, could there be a universe where there is no multiverse?

We don't know the probability of intelligent life. We know it's not zero cause we exist. We know it's not 100 % per planet after looking at other planets in our solar system. If we knew there is only 1 universe then we might assume the probability is not super close to zero or we would most likely not exist. But if there is a multiverse then the probability can be essentially zero and we could still exist cause there would be many more planets for the probability to work with.

How can this simple concept be so hard for you to understand?

Hi first time on /sci/ and I came here because I was wondering if someone could explain the structure and nature of the M-theory Multiverse to me. I've done a lot of reading but still am very confused about certain subjects.
Things like
>are the extra 6 spatial dimensions other universes or just aspects of reality which we cant see because of our 3D nature?
>How are other universes arranged or organized. Are they all floating around some nebulous space or are they linked?
>How exactly do string vibrations fit into all of this?

I'm looking for something for a layman so analogies would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If the multiverse theory is true, then there is a universe in which it's not.

If the Multiverse theory is correct, does that mean there's an universe out there that's exactly the same as this one except the Lord of the Rings movies are called Lord of the Bracelets?

So if there are an infinite number of universes, and in that means infinite possibilities... Shouldn't there be a universe where things travel to our universe specifically and do crazy things to it, maybe a universe where giant testicles transport into this universe and crash into Earth? I mean anything is possible...
