Who here actually does their own science? Looking at shit under a microscope, cultivating bacteria or trying to artificially select some genes in your plants or something? Clandestine chemistry? I love that shit.

I'm thinking about buying a stereo microscope but can't decide if a Digital one would be better

I miss her(his) trolling antics about zoology and understanding math (Despite being terrible at it).

I'm trying to model a diatomic molecule using a restoring linear force. For simplicity I have decided to only consider the homonuclear case (non polar covalent bond). I need to justify why it's logical to model the atoms as point masses connected by a massless spring. Any help? I'm a mathematician, not a physicist or chemist.

Beyond the usual transhuman stuff Im sure /sci/ talks about all the time, was anyone else shocked at:
>The device then electrically stimulates the decision-based neural activity by playing the recording back to the same part of the brain.

Since when are we directly stimulating neurons with any meaningful pattern fidelity?

I think it was started around Feb 2010

I read on /sci/ about the idea that gravity is caused by the collective frame dragging of the objects involved. I'm wondering if anyone else knows more about it and can answer some questions?

Primarily, are we talking about rotational velocity causing the frame dragging?

>all genes are briefly switched on and many of them just as quickly switched back off
Well thats very interesting. Kind of like ye olde POST process for PCs.

Bump, this is an actual question about actual science.

How so? Is the middle of the tire easier to bend than the sides, and does that effect balance?
