Like seriously thanks for trying to kill the conversation, fuckhead. I can't say "yes". I can't say "naw it's easy" because it's not, and they probably failed physics in highschool and I'll make them feel bad. All I can do is laugh it off and change the subject.

I keep hearing and reading all about funding being cut left right and centre.

Maybe it's scaremongering because I'm an undergrad, and they're trying to make sure only the really dedicated ones look into further study. But seriously, it seems every day I open some news site and they're talking about science funding being cut, UK in danger of losing our scientific edge, etc etc.
