Hey /sci/

Going to Uni next year and I have to take differential calculus, which I guess is the aussie version of calc 1 and Linear algebra first semester. I enjoy maths but I'm not that great at it, have you guys got any resources that will help me prepare myself for these courses? preferable something that goes over what I should know before doing these classes and what I would probably learn during them.

Purely from a statistical point of view, someone being "lucky" is just that, luck. But what about someone who consistently has good luck on their side. Given the amount of people and amount of actions that are seemingly random it would seem absurd, but at the same time, wouldn't this give rise to a group of people who are extraordinary lucky?

The sad thing is I don't expect much science literacy from people, just a little, and it's hard to find that even. Is it too hard to ask people to know the meaning of words in the language they speak? Is it asking too much to at least know what planet is doing what if something's going on, since it's not difficult to pick up on even if you're just watching the news?

Took College Algebra in the fall semester, then I took a placement test to get into Calc 1 for the spring, skipping bullshit like Trig, and PreCal. Now I'll probably take Calc 2 and a physics class to catch up.

But at least I became interested in programming at a young age, so I still have an entire life to look forward to. Too bad, as of now, I have nothing.
