Yeah if that interpretation makes you happy, sure. I really don't bring up school that often and it's very unlikely bringing it up when meeting somebody because I have more to my life than school.

I loved calc 1-3, ODEs, linear algebra, and even analysis but just can't stand abstract algebra. I'm a mechanical engineer and I would love to continue pursuing math on the side, but I'm not sure where to go from here. What are my options if I don't enjoy algebra (which seems pretty useless for me anyways). I'm thinking perhaps numerical methods, PDEs, or statistics?
