And I know for a fact this isn't true.

btw, the Loan Forgiveness was only done because Academia gets to keep the money, and the people who loaned out the money are no longer responsible for collecting it; which is good because they technically didn't even have the money to loan out.

It would be like if I loaned everyone in the world $1Million, and on average, they each only repaid me $1 of that $1Million Loan.
So with the ~7Billion $1 Loan-Payments I'll have ~$7Billion. Not bad, not great.
But then the Government suddenly says I actually didn't have the authority to recklessly throw around all that money, because I was technically $5Billion in debt before I even gave out the first loan. Ooops.
So the Government decides to help out the people who got Loans from me, and tells them they no longer have to repay the loan, and we'll just call it even.
Which is REALLY good for me, because instead of owing the Government $7x10^14, I now have $2Billion cash. For free. :)))
