Here is an attempt at arranging drugs after addictiveness and harm.

The effects are of course unique on every person but trends can be easily found.

The most accepted drugs in western society are of course alcohol and tobacco both of which do quite serious harm if abused.

Cannabis has a lower addictively and harm but is used more widely by lower classes. It is not difficult to understand why. Lower classes often are alienated from the main society and laws are not as important in the ghetto as on mainstreet.

This goes for all drugs, if they are illegal the use within prosperous groups decline severely.
There can also be found almost linear trends between drug use and education, supposedly for the roughly same reason as mentioned above.

So the problem of cannabis/pot might not be the drug itself but its associated with a weak position in society as well as leads to interaction with criminals.

This contributes to the “loser stamp” that comes with abuse and the word pothead is clearly not a compliment.

I found it first here. Then I saw it in wikipedia. Searching.
Aslo, everyone here should check this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychoactive_drug
Pic from that page.
>Psychoactive drugs operate by temporarily affecting a person's neurochemistry, which in turn causes changes in a person's mood, cognition, perception and behavior. There are many ways in which psychoactive drugs can affect the brain. Each drug has a specific action on one or more neurotransmitter or neuroreceptor in the brain.

If you're talking about this one, it's incredibly flawed.
