/pol/ here

I'm curious if any humans currently exist living on this planet who are doing Albert Einstein tier work.

Seems we are lacking of a super genius to take us the next level in science.

enlighten me high IQ master races of /sci/

There's a pretty significant lag time between a great mathematician's active work and public appreciation or knowledge of such work.

Furthermore, since mathematics is an insanely large field today, it's most brilliant minds are often hard at work on important results that even other mathematicians will not recognize the significance of.

OP seems to imply that there is less genius about today...

I pose this: there's more genius than ever (Mostly because there's more people than ever with access to education), but the genius is more anonymous and cooperative in nature.

I think this is the trend in all academic fields.

When I'm at my university's library, I can't help but feel that somewhere in the thousands of volumes surrounding me are the answers to every question I've ever wanted to know.

I also dislike the question because of its direct association of mathematics with the notion of personal greatness.

The joy and stimulation inherent in any given subject exists as a result of something far greater than genius, and infinitely more spectacular than ego, which is a miserable, petty exercise not unlike the singular pursuit of material wealth.

So /sci/ ...

I'm looking for a quick primer for Mathematica, basically so I can check my calc 2 homework with it. I didn't see such in the sci guide.

Guys, I've heard that time began at the big bang and did not exist. What does that mean? What is our marker for knowing time is occurring i.e. how do we tell that time is happening? Thanks /sci/

Hi sci

Does anybody has good syllabi regarding quantum chemistry? I need those, not the physics ones. If anybody can provide me with those it would be awesome. The book I got is decent, but I feel that essential things are missing. It would be great to find a book that has alot of exercices/solutions/great explanations to train myself on this subject.

Thanks in advance

Please help me /sci/

I have an essay for thermodynamics and I'm supposed to find recent scientists in thermo and their contributions. I have no idea how to find that, Google has failed me.

hey /sci/ this isnt specifically a math or science question so i apologize but i am starting a math course at a community college which will eventually lead to a physics associates degree, so work with me here.
I am a ausfag who lives in california now and im not exactly sure how the school system works out here. I was wondering if, when i start going to cc will i have to take other courses besides math?

>tldr
>want to do math at community college do i have to do other subjects

Hello, /sci/entists;
I'm looking for a good book to study general Physics. I'm at the first year of the grade at Physics. What would you suggest me?

thought you guys might find this cool

Someone "colorized" the original 1927 Solvay conference.

I find it cool because they're all white.
