Here it is being sunk, the struts are to keep it high enough off the bottom that he can swim in through the hatch underneath. Not seen; the pre-sunk concrete ballast.

Biosub 1, for reference. Built by one man, from a shipping container. He's attracted a lot of sponsors since then and his second habitat (in which he lived in the Legoland Germany aquarium for two weeks) was of considerably higher quality. Biosub 2, his third habitat, is expected to be on par with Aquarius but for a fraction of the cost.
