Dementia is not a problem of the nerve cells themselfes. When we find a method to keep the brain "clean" and achieve a sustained functioning of the cells it should be possible to let the brain function for 200-300 years. Before the cells DNA fails to repair the oxydative stress. All this given that the telomeres get repaired and no metabolic differences, that happen due to aging processes, occur.

As I am not a neurologist, I do not know the details, but in theory, it is not impossible. I am sure cell degeneration can be cured in around 2 centuries. I am also sure that this will cause a major change in humanity- as baby boomers that do not die will inevitably send humankind into oblivion.

A change in the social system might work. We see it in Europe: less babies per couple. And later pregnancy.
