Generally, humans have hoarded valuable knowledge and kept it secret. They gain power by keeping others in ignorance. Whether this changes is up to all of us in the present. How we choose to react to, and spread the fact that Humanity has been ruled by higher powers since our creation. Priests tend to be middlemen, and scientists are modern priests.
