/sci/, I have to bitch for a minute. I hope you will indulge me.

Today, I was in my required World History class, which covers the what we know about man's prehistory until 1500. The lecture was on the cradle of civilization; covered topics included the Mesopotamian cradle, Hummunrabi's law code, etc etc.

One of the cultures covered was the ancient Hebrews, which was fine, but he went into great detail about how God's guidance caused the ancient Hebrews to become much more forward thinking than other civilizations in the area, and gave all the religious explanations for things like why the ancient Jews wandered in the desert for 40 years, why there was no record of the Hebrew exodus from ancient Egypt, etc. We spent probably half of class covering how the bible is a great source for history, and how Hebrew prophesy was fulfilled in 1948 with the creation of Israel.

The guy's bias was obvious. He has (according to past students of his that I have talked to since the lecture today) a very bad habit of pushing the "rightness" of Judeo-Christian history and theology. The guy is a Mormon by the way, according to his own statement of faith the first day of class, when he said he'd keep his personal views out of the class and just focus on the history.
