If a human being became immortal, would their brains be able to take it? After all memories are stored in neurons, and the brain has limited space. Wouldn't you eventually run out of room to store more information? And how long would it take for this to happen? One hundred fifty years? Five hundred years?

Also, do you think our capacity for memory is high enough that if a human being assimilated all knowledge and memories of another human being, their brain would be able to hold it all?

the neo-cortex allows for invariant representations of data which allows for learning, recognition, and prediction of new patterns (via a bi-directional bayesian probability network). the information processing areas (visual, audio, sensory-motor) are then massively and redundantly interconnected across the parietal, temporal, occipital, and prefrontal lobes of the brain, with the limbic system and thalamus acting in a modulator role.

actually we do know (we're learning fast in any case). Long Term Potentiation and Long Term Depression are processes that enable us to store and retain memories in our hippocampus. LTP and LTD are examples of neuronal plasticity that occurs primarily during sleep which allows the body to recover and the synapses to rewire.
