Three men stay in 1 room at a hotel. The cost is $30 for the room. Each man pays an equal $10 and they go to their room.
Suddenly, the receptionist realises he has made a mistake - the cost is only $25 for the night. So he hands the bellboy $5 change, and asks him to take the $5 to the men. Bellboy don't do maths too good, so decides to give the men back $1 each, keeping $2 for himself. This means each man paid $9 per room instead of $10. 3 x $9 = $27. The bellboy has kept $2. That adds up to $29. Where has the extra $1 gone?
