during the Jurassic we had these monster sauropods that were whole-tree predators, like elephants today. They made meadows by knocking all the trees down and eating them. Then later we had much stronger, tighter vegetation and no herbivores even half as large.

there were a fuckload of smaller dinos in the Maastrichtian though, something we don't see in the Kimmeridgian fauna.

that one is over 9m, so pretty damn big. Not the largest one he assembled though. I think it's the second largest of the three he made for US institutions. The largest is at BYU, with a cast at UCLA iirc.
