Hey friends - I recently made a huge lifestyle change and quit smoking massive amounts of weed on a daily basis. I quit cold turkey.

Ever since quitting, I’ve been having the most horrific and vivid nightmares one could possibly imagine. I wake up in a panic, and it takes some time to realize the horror I experienced was a dream.

In addition to this, I’m suddenly having sleep paralysis. When it happens, my eyes do open, and I see shadowy figures or billowing black smoke all around me, in combination with a loud humming vibration sound. Usually the paralysis lasts a few minutes, and if I try to go back to sleep right after - the paralysis sets in again immediately

Could this be due to the fact that I stopped smoking abruptly, or is there a potential medical reason for these occurrences? I assumed the nightmares would stop after a month, but instead they are persisting and becoming even worse. The sleep paralysis is especially unsettling.

Also, is there any supplement or scientific evidence that supports any remedies for this? I will not go back to smoking weed, so that is not an option.

Figured I’d ask here, everyone here seems rather intelligent as compared to the other boards.
