A professor wrote two mathematics problems on the blackboard and told his class that they were unsolved, and no mathematician had any idea how to tackle them.

A young student came in late, wrote the problems down on his note book assuming they were homework.

The next day he came in late again, and his professor wasn't happy. The student apologised and said he was up late solving two questions from the day before.

The student's name? Leonhard Euler.
