It is a science. However, the main problem is that most of the studies in that field have nothing to do with science. There's only something like 0.1% of studies in psychology that are science. Most people don't even know what psychology is apart from the dictionary definition.

I bet if they run the tests a few more times they'd discover that is also incorrect and that placebo has a higher rate of success. The problem with psychiatry is that is isn't a science, it is nothing but hoodoo, and it is unable to reproduce results consistently.

One of my friends is a retired physiologist. She fucking loves it. Thinks its the best thing ever. She's constantly helping random people she meets, but on a normal social level, not medical of course.

Me, I think it is boring and tedious, then again I could care less about most people.

So, I think that if you find the field enjoyable already, you will find it enjoyable to do as a vocation in life.
