Kurzweil is a turd and a quack. Transhumanism is a noble goal. As a synthetic biologist PhD student, I can say Kurzweil is an idiot and his ideas on biological transhumanism and his blatant fantasy futurist predictions are quite false...but there are other approaches which are quite feasible (some of which I am actively pursuing). There is a difference between a man who holds ideas and the ideas themselves.

Also I heard reading a book implies agreeing with the contents of the book. In fact, despite clearly championing the concept of transhumanism, she actually appears in panels 4-6 to be quite bored with the book.
