My attention span has gone to utter shit and I'm too addicted to easy sources of pleasure to spend the time I want to studying and learning. How tf do I fix myself, scientifically.

/Sci/ what are your most effective methods/learning techniques for self studying a complex subject from a just a textbook?

Reading and note taking isn't doing much especially when I have no assignments and varying motivation (on top of having classes which are higher in priority)
