tfw only qualified for shitty, peripheral frontend web jobs because I'm a .NET developer

I hate to be that guy /sci/ but does Alpha wave music really work? Does it really help your mind?

Help me /sci/. Some sort of bug landed on my shoulder and I instinctively swatted at it and damaged it a bit. It was just some beetle but now it's crawling around on the ground and I'm not sure if it's completely fucked. What is the correct course of action? Am I to squish it and remove it of any future pain it may have as a result of my instinctive swatting? Why do I feel bad about this even though I am naturally inclined to swat at insects since years of evolution have taught man that bugs may carry disease and should thus be guarded against? I don't want to destroy the beautiful biological machinery that is this bug.
