What is it like working an R&D job?

I have a couple of job offers, and one of them seems like work that I would love to do. However, it's R&D, and no one in my circle of friends/family/whatever has ever done stuff like that. I'm pretty much asking if I'm going to want to kill myself.

Also, I'm an Electrical and Computer Engineer if that makes a difference.

Hey /sci/, what do you think of nuclear power, especially about the apprehension and the green energy shilling surrounding it? It seems like every other form of power source is more or less acceptable, even coal and gas, but when you talk about anything nuclear you're looked at as if you had just shot up an elementary school. Many declare renewable energy sources as better, but is this really true? Please tell me /sci/.

All right /sci/, it's 2016, we have huge rockets and advanced labs, we can simulate pressure, temperature, everything, so why couldn't we figure out abiogenesis yet? shouldn't it be simple since the fist lifeforms were simple? What are we missing?

As far as I know, no one actually knows why we dream. It's brain activity and it's reason is unknown.

We also don't know why we sleep, we know that if we don't sleep, we die, and that's it (Rat experiments shows that if you don't allow them to sleep, they get cold and die after a few days)

Also if you pay attention to details, dream are very realistic, lightning, shadows, face details etc, it's amazing our brain can simulate reality so well.
