it's a big list and when you post it goes to the top of the list, unless the rules say it can't (you post "sage" in the options field or the thread is in autosage)
new threads automatically go to the top of the list, and anything that gets pushed off the bottom of the list by a new thread is archived (they used to be just deleted)
