I used to grade/T.A. for a professor I was good buddies with, but he was only visiting since he was a recent ph.D graduate. I wanted to get him a gift before he leaves to his new permanent institution, Colgate. What's a really good, appropriate student to professor present? It's been a long time. I'm a Math/CS/Applied-Math Triple Major and so far, I'm only good for the first 2. Thus, I really need to learn to physics, but most of my learning I do by self-study.

What intro physics book would the physics majors here recommend? So far, I've heard of:
