If you think fields and closure are needed, then you might better convey that idea by making statements motivating your belief instead of mocking my own belief.

For instance, I believe closure is not important because all whole numbers between minus fifty and plus seventy six, taken with the additive operation, form a perfectly sound algebraic structure with which we can do summation mathematics in the usual way, and the lack of closure which makes it not an additive group doesn't matter at all.

In your opinion, how does it adversely affect the mathematics of summation that the set is not closed under addition?
