honestly who gives a fuck at this point. It’s 1,000,000x less embarrassing than giving BO a contract and at least it keeps congress happy enough to keep artemis alive, which in turn is using Starship because their idea of also getting a grift lander backfired. SLS is way too expensive but it isn’t “holding up spaceflight” so much as it is just “failing to advance” it. Your taxes don’t go up a single penny whether this rocket cost $1 mil or $4 bil, and starship is going to push the frontier toward regardless of SLS’s existence or not
Best to just look at the silver linings now, know that it’s more competent than POCKOCMOC, and be glad that it makes Artemis more stable and gives jobs to SeX for gateway construction and crewed landings that will dab on every other rocket company. Oh no defense contractor are grifting? What’s new. At least it works
