What's to say I don't go into a casino, sit at a roulette table and wait for 7 reds in a row. On the 8th spin I put $10 on black, if I win repeat process again, if I lose put $20 on black, and so on until I win.

This way you eliminate the chance of having a long dry run. Sure it's a 49% chance each time that you get black after the 7th red HOWEVER it's even more unlikely that the streak of reds continues.

Tell me why this is flawed and why I can't make $1000s over the course of a couple of days.

I've been lurking on this board for many years throughout my undergrad. I go to a west coast "top tier" university, has one of the top physics programs in the world. I've done some research, my grades are...not the best but also not the absolute worst, I have a little bit of research experience but mostly just did some private projects with other undergrads. I honestly feel like I wasted a lot of my earlier undergrad, I was also kind of trapped in a toxic relationship with my ex girlfriend and it drastically affected my academic performance for like 2 years. It's my last semester, I'm gonna start applying to jobs soon, I still want a doctorate some day (perhaps) but also a family and I'm already a little older than most people finishing undergrad, honestly I don't *really* know what I want, I am talented in a lot of art fields and have connections in the film industry and a lot of other crap. I wish I could meld all my interests together. Music, writing, painting, physics, building, idk it's really hard to think about what the hell the future holds for me. Any advice for what to do after finishing undergrad? Also, be honest, is it actually feasible to get a good job straight out of undergrad with a degree in physics from an ivy league school? (preferably in research but who the hell knows at this point)
